Interested in Riding in the Baldwin Horse Parade?
MAPFHA is considering participating in the 36th Annual Horse Parade in Baldwin, Wisconsin — and we’d love to know if you are interested in joining!
📅 Date: Saturday, December 6, 2025
📍 Location: Main Street, Baldwin, WI
This long-standing holiday tradition is a favorite in western Wisconsin, featuring beautifully decorated horses, festive music, and plenty of small-town charm. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our Paso Finos’ smooth gait and cheerful spirit to the public while spreading some holiday joy!
We’re gauging interest to see if there are enough riders (and volunteers) to represent MAPFHA with a group entry. Whether you’d like to ride or help decorate, your participation makes all the difference.
👉 Interested? Please email us or message us on Facebook so we can plan accordingly.
Let’s make this a fun and festive outing to close out the year—Paso style! 🎅🐴✨

Ukarydee Trail Weekend: Perfect Weather, Beautiful Trails & Great Company
What a spectacular fall weekend at Ukarydee in Wisconsin! The weather could not have been more perfect—sunshine, crisp air, and the kind of scenery that makes you pause mid-ride just to take it all in.
Our MAPFHA group enjoyed miles of scenic trails, cozy campfires, and plenty of laughter shared among new friends. It was the perfect reminder of why we love coming together with our Paso Finos and fellow trail enthusiasts—every ride becomes a story worth telling.
We were especially excited to welcome Julie and Clifford from Appleton, WI, new Paso Fino owners who recently brought home two 2-½-year-old Paso Finos, Brego and Titan, from Horse Haven Paso Finos. They joined the ride aboard their trusty Tennessee Walking Horse and Spotted Saddle Horse, already dreaming of future adventures with their young Pasos.
Also joining the fun were Sarah and Hazel with their dynamic duo—Paso Fino Fiero and her Mustang Perci —who lit up the trails with enthusiasm. Montana and Ben brought their Paso Finos Paxon, Mercedes, and Sofia, rounding out a weekend full of smooth rides, good conversation, and plenty of laughter around the fire.
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who made this weekend so special. From swapping stories to sharing s’mores, it was everything we love about MAPFHA gatherings: friendship, horsemanship, and unforgettable memories.

MAPFHA Fall Ride at Bartels – Sunshine, Friendship & Smooth Paso Finos
The first weekend of October couldn’t have been more perfect for our MAPFHA Fall Ride at Bartels in Rochester, Minnesota! With sunny skies, highs in the low 80s, and cool 50-degree evenings, riders enjoyed ideal weather for trail adventures, porch conversations, and plenty of laughter among friends.
The weekend began with one large group ride, filling the trails with the sound of hoofbeats and cheerful chatter as everyone set out together to enjoy Bartels’ beautiful landscape. Afterward, riders branched out into smaller groups and solo rides, exploring peaceful wooded paths and open stretches at their own pace.
Among those enjoying the weekend were Sue with her Paso Fino Dakota, accompanied by Jim, who cruised alongside in his trusty golf cart with Tatia, our talented photographer capturing the weekend’s smiles, horses, and trail moments. Chuck rode Paso Fino Cocoa; Ben was aboard Mercedes; and Montana rode Paxon. Judy joined the fun with Icelandic Crystal, while Tanya and Mike brought their Quarter Horses and loyal cattle dog Vito, who happily trotted along for the rides. We were also joined by another rider and her beautiful Quarter Horse, adding even more variety and smiles to the group.
Sunday’s Paso group ride included a little unexpected adventure when everyone encountered a sleeping skunk on the trail, resulting in a brief delay as the group waited (from a very respectful distance!) for their drowsy new friend to wander off. It made for plenty of laughter later — and one particularly memorable “between the ears” photo capture of our striped trail guest!
Also joining the weekend were Nicole and Ryan, new friends who brought great conversation to the porch gathering after the rides.
It was the kind of weekend that reminds us what MAPFHA is all about—smooth Paso Finos, good friends, and shared memories under the autumn sun.

Help Us Choose the Location for Our Annual Meeting!
As we look ahead to our MAPFHA Annual Meeting, we want to make it as accessible and enjoyable as possible for our members across the region. This gathering is a great opportunity to connect, share ideas, and socialize outside of our regular riding season.
We’re considering two convenient locations for this year’s meeting:
📍 Stillwater, Minnesota
📍 Hudson, Wisconsin
Both offer great restaurants, easy access from multiple directions, and cozy spaces to gather and catch up before spring riding begins.
👉 We’d love your input! Please let us know which location you would prefer by emailing — Stillwater or Hudson — so we can finalize the plans and ensure it’s convenient for the majority of our members.
Your feedback helps make MAPFHA events welcoming and easy to attend for everyone.
Volunteers & Horses Needed for the 2026 Midwest Horse Fair!
MAPFHA is excited to explore a return to the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin for 2026 — but we need your help to make it happen!
As this would be our first year attending in several years, the fair requires a 10-minute demonstration outline and videos of the horses as part of the application. To be eligible, we must have at least six guaranteed horses confirmed to participate — and we’re still a few short of that goal.
📅 Submission Deadline: November 1, 2025
If we can secure enough horses and volunteers, we’ll proudly represent the Paso Fino breed at one of the Midwest’s premier equine events. If not, we’ll continue our annual participation at the 2026 Minnesota Horse Expo, where we’ll use that demo opportunity to create a polished 10-minute video for a future Midwest Horse Fair application in 2027.
The more riders and horses we have at the Minnesota Horse Expo, the stronger our 2027 submission will be — and the more spectators we’ll inspire with the smooth, natural gait of the Paso Fino!
👉 If you can volunteer or commit a horse for the Midwest Horse Fair or Minnesota Horse Expo, please email us
Let’s bring our Pasos back to the Midwest Horse Fair stage!
